Recipe - Summertime Sadness Smoothie.

We created this special smoothie during one of the coldest weeks of winter. We'd just received some new merchandise from Unicorn Superfoods (we use their dragon fruit powder to add a pretty pink colour to some of our raw desserts instead of food colouring) and were keen to create a drink around their Tropicana superfood blend.

This blend is great for skin health but also has immune boosting properties as well (surely that can't hurt in this current landscape!). Keep reading to find out how you can make this smoothie yourself at home.

SUMMERTIME SADNESS
VEGAN | DAIRY FREE | GLUTEN FREE
Makes about 500ml

INGREDIENTS
300ml pineapple juice (freshly squeezed is best)
2 frozen bananas (you could substitute for a cup of frozen mango instead. We like the creaminess of bananas though)
1 heaped teaspoon Unicorn Superfoods Tropicana Powder
1 date
1 tablespoon passionfruit

METHOD
1. Add all ingredients to the blender except for the passionfruit and blend on a high speed blender until smooth.

2. Add the passionfruit to the bottom of the serving glass. Pour the smoothie into the glass and swirl the passionfruit around the base with a spoon. Serve immediately.
